There is a huge number of dogs that are killed in shelters all over the United States every year. Rudy was one of those dogs who were about to be killed.
Poor Rudy. I see the tears in your eyes. I hope you have someone to love you and hold you and take care of you for the rest of your life.
Rudy had been abused and had injuries with severe beatings including a broken hip. He had clearly been starved and seemed to haven't been fed for a very long time. He had severe eye and ear infections, worms, pneumonia, mange and skin infections.
He couldn't be adopted so he was scheduled to be euthanized at the shelter. A local rescue group called Huston Street Dogs saw those pleading eyes and rescued him from death row with only hours left.
First, Rudy was terrified, so scared of everything and everybody, but eventually and as time went by, he opened up and allowed them to get closer to him.
His foster mom kissed his face and he received his very first dose of love.
Rudy was given his first warm meal in a warm loving home. With a full belly he could now enjoy his warm bed and sleep soundly.
Shortly after he was fostered, Rudy started gaining some confidence. Along with goof food and lots of love, Rudy's life is now full of medical care, lots of visits to the vet, lots of medications and long sleepy hours to help him recover.
Receiving lots of love and affection from his loving and caring foster mom. Now Rudy is a totally different dog. He now smiles and approaches people.
Share his story with your family and friends and help him find a forever home!
