After many tours in Afghanistan for service, Marine veteran Chris Galliher returned back to civilian life thanks to his heroic dog, Raider.
Raider is Galliher's best friend that he can rely on, and they have been together through tough times already and if Galliher was panicked over what happened in that night, this is a natural thing.
Galliher and Raider had stopped at a motel in Utah to spend the night according to KTLA 5. They stopped for some rest because they were on their way home to Washington state. After attending promotion and retirement ceremonies at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in California, they were playing in the room when Galliher opened the front door.
At one moment, the dog was disappeared!
Galliher thought it was a squirrel that made Raider to race across the parking group before disappearing into the night.
And that led to the longest nights of Galliher's whole life. He spent much of that horrible night walking or driving and non-stop searching for his missing buddy.
"I got Raider when I felt like I felt like I was in a dark cave and there was no chance of seeing the light again and getting him was like having a little glint of hope," he told Fox 13 News.
Although Galliher spent the night searching the area, he didn't think to stop at the veterinary clinic next to the motel.
Galliher didn't know his dog was there until the next morning.
Raider appeared anxious behind a door at the clinic, doing his best to squeeze much of his body into Gallagher's arms.
"Where have you been?" Galliher says in a video of the reunion posted on YouTube."Where did you go? You scared me."
