When the film industry was celebrating the Oscar Awards this year,
the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) decided to make their own celebration and host their own award show made by vets.
The invited the "vet" people to vote for their favorite video via social media polls. The winning video was from
Nolan River Animal Hospital in Cleburne, Texas and the video was called "
All About That Spay".
Although spaying and neutering can be a divisive subject, unplanned litters are the main source of vet overpopulation. Stray and homeless pets usually produce multiple litters each and every year and around 35% of U.S households do not spay or neuter their pets.
This means 60 million pets can breed a million more stray puppies and kittens every single year!
