When
Ronnie Dahl, an ABC 7 Action reporter, found a stray dog in a hard situation, she knew she must do something to save her.
The dog seemed to be guarding an abandoned house, refusing to leave it and apparently had just given birth!
“She was shy and skittish. Even the promise of food couldn’t get her to leave the home. It was obvious she had puppies, but where were they?” Ronnie said.
Danielle Stefanoviski, another passerby, also tried to help in rescuing the mother dog, but failed in doing so.
Danielle then decided to find the new-born puppies when she noticed them sunbathing on the porch.
When she got closer to them, they ran back to the house to hide and
Danielle went after them inside the house, too!
The home was covered in trash, but finally she found two amazing new-born puppies, and their three other siblings who did not survive.
She took the two puppies,
Lucy and Owen, to be seen by a vet right away!
As time went by and few days later,
Ronnie called
Mike Diesel of Detroit Youth and Dog Rescue and animal patrol officer
Lori Briggs. Both of the two men set a trap and within a short while, they rescued the mother dog.
Lori and
Mike didn't have a clue that
Danielle has rescued the two puppies. They knew via a Facebook post.
Eventually, everything fell into place. The mother dog,
Princess, was finally reunited with her two puppies and that was the
happy ending that they deserved.
“She was protecting them. Even the deceased ones, which is unbelievable,” Lori said. “When you get a dog or find their puppies, it’s just like… thank God!”
If you are glad this adorable mother is saved and reunited with her puppies, share with your family and friends!
