Rare Snubfin Dolphin Spotted Smiling While Swimming

Emma Schmidt, a ranger at Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, was there patrolling waters off the coast of Australia, and she was stunned when she saw this. Emma Schmidt had spotted these dolphins for only two times in the last 12 years, as she explained that the Snubfin dolphins are very rare, she also said that she is very lucky to take this photo, she said that this smile the dolphin showed and this photo is a treasure. The dolphin was playing around and popping out of the water, and then she smiled. The Queenland National Park had posted the photo of the dolphin on their Facebook page, and it went viral all over the internet, everyone was amazed by how adorable the smile is. The Snubfin dolphins are mostly found at the northern costs of Australia, this dolphin specie is related to theIrrawaddy dolphin, but in 2005 it was announced that the Snubfin dolphin is separated specie. The mammals can weigh from 200 to 400 pounds, and they are around 7 to 9 feet. They mostly feed on fish and cephalopods. The average of gestation period for snubfin dolphins is between 12 to 14 months, the newborns feed on milk, and they are nursed till they are able to hunt and feed by themselves.
