Early in the morning of Valentine's Day, a unique Miniature Pinscher called
Walter died in the arms of his loving adoptive mother.
Gabi Gutierrez who is one of the non-profit organization,
Angels for Animals Rescue.
Gabi met
Walter for the first time in February of 2014 he was only 10 months year old. His first family surrendered him to a shelter. In that time, she knew exactly that the little dog was a very special one more than his appearance.
The page of
All About Walter wrote:
"Walter died as he lived , enjoying life . He died after falling asleep watching his favorite show , Golden Girls with his Golden Girls blanket over him .I can't thank you all enough for being a part of Walters life. He wasn't just my special boy but he was everyone's Walnut . I can't thank you all enough for being part of our family. I'm so heart broken by losing him but he passed in my arms as my tears rolled on to his body as I cradled him in my arms".
Walter suffered from a rare genetic condition named "
Mucopolysaccharidosis VI". This disorder causes severe muscle atrophy, facial deformities and degenerative joint disease and eye cloudiness as well.
Before
Walter reached the age of 10 months, he didn't receive any care or treatment for his special condition.
Walter's adorable spirit captured the heart and attention of everyone's heart.
Although
Walter's life was too short, he managed to inspire thousand people through his Facebook page and YouTube channel. After his death,
Gabi decided to honor his short life with a trip cross countries. She took his favorite toy with her on the trip.
She visited Walnut Canyon National Monument to remember her special friend.
