This must have been the poor dog's worst nightmares!
It was a horrific scene, to watch a man threaten his dog with a hammer! The man told his helpless terrified dog to "Die"!
One Good Samaritan refused to turn a blind eye to what was happening and ensured the terrified dog could find another home he really deserves.
Officials say they were alerted about the shocking incident thanks to a video sent by someone who witnessed the horrible scene.
In the video, Leeds resident
, Paul Archer, can be seen obviously screaming repeatedly at his helpless and terrified dog,
Denver, just before violently slamming the car's trunk shut, inches away from the dog's head!
"Watching the footage, it's clear that Denver is frightened of the way his owner is behaving towards him," RSPCA Inspector Gemma Fowler told the Yorkshire Evening Post . "We all get angry sometimes, but Mr. Archer's behavior towards Denver is totally unacceptable."
Later on, Archer admitted his failure to meet Denver's needs, but he claimed that the dog has jumped in the car
"and broke the screen on an iPad".
This explanation obviously failed to convince the court. In the end,
Archer was fined $1000 and was banned from owning animals for the next five years, moreover,
Denver was taken away from him.
"Denver is a smashing dog with a great personality and happily he will now be able to go to the kind of home he deserves," said Fowler. "I'd like to say thank you to the person who filmed and sent this footage to us, without which we wouldn't have had a case. They have changed this dog's life."
