In a farm near Hope, Indiana, a baby brown calf had gone through a terrifying ordeal. The three day-old calf, Chewbacca, had somehow managed his way through the farm fence and got himself onto a frozen pond, 25 feet away! The poor calf was completely stranded, and at the tip of death.
While the farmer failed to use his rope to pull the curious little guy, a sheriff came along to help the poor baby. They tied two ropes in order to reach the baby calf. After several attempts they were lucky, they succeeded in rescuing him.
It is heartwarming to see how the farmer and the sheriff saved the baby calf successfully; they worked on warming him up immediately. My favorite scene in the video below is when the reaction of the calf’s mom when she found that her little baby was safe and good.
After the rescue of Chewbacca, the farmer expressed that the animals were very fond of the calf, and that his absence made a difference. They promise to take more care of him and to ensure he does not wander too far.
