He Locks Himself In With A Battered Pit Bull, Watch When He starts To Eat

Dr. Andy Mathis, a vet in Elberton, Georgia, was about to leave the hospital for the night: just at the closing time, a woman called to report about a starving dog she found on a country dirt road. Dr. Mathis told the woman to bring the dog into the hospital so he could check on her! 12644638_1005463812843392_8310951512575816707_n-600x399 The woman arrived at Granite Hill Animal Care with a gray Pit Bull that was in terrible condition. The dog was extremely emaciated, hypothermic, anemic and moreover she was suffering from a severe vaginal prolapse! 12719097_1010569392332834_983819125132387964_o-600x604 Dr. Mathis wasn't really sure if that poor dog could make it or not, so he decided to turn to his fellow animal lovers on Facebook for support!  “So I had 2 choices,” Dr. Mathis wrote on Facebook. “I can put her to sleep. Or try to save her. So I asked the universe … also known as Facebook … and the universe said ‘Try.’ The universe even named her as they said, ‘we hate the thought that any pet gets sent to rainbow bridge or passes away without a name,’ so they christened her Graycie Clair. Spelled with a Y for her gray coloring.” Screen-Shot-2016-02-15-at-81-600x340 The video shows Dr. Mathis sitting down with Graycie inside her kennel in an attempt to encourage her to eat some food, which she is in a desperate need for.  He had all the patience in the world in a very heart touching way! At that point, Graycie was already making noticeable improvement and beginning to gain some weight, but she had a serious trust issue! Dr. Mathis showed extraordinary kindness, respect and love when he was treating the dog. He wanted to make her feel safe and encourage her to enjoy the food! 12694825_1011187408937699_8258542272117100728_o-600x400 He even took his own breakfast into the kennel with him, eating from a metal dog bowl to show her that they’re equals!
