"Don't ever question who can defy the odds," Shannon Keith, president of Animal Rescue, Media & Education (ARME) said..
Keith is talking about Chi Chi who had lost her paws a few weeks ago. She was undergoing rehabilitation in preparation for moving into a permanent home.
It took two months of hard work, Chi Chi is finally able and ready for her new life. She is now ready to leave her painful past behind, move on and find a forever home.
Chi Chi is named after a Korean word means "loving"!
The loving dog was rescued from a trash can beside a dog meat farm in South Korea, where they found her hanging inside upside down by her paws.
"(Dog meat farmers) like the dogs to be scared before they die, because they think that makes the meat taste better," said Keith. "The more torture the more tender the meat."
Keith mentioned that many people are shocked that dog meat is still eaten in many countries all over the world.
"We weren't even sure she was going to live, She survived and the day after surgery she was trying to walk. She was smiling and wagging her tail. Then, a couple days later, she even started walking on her little stumps."" said Keith.
After long correspondences, Keith finally received Chi Chi when she arrived at the Los Angeles International Airport in California.
At that point, Keith drove Chi Chi to her new home in Arizona.
Once they got out of the car, Chi Chi started to sniff and feel the grass for the very first time in her entire life.
She also had her first family meeting; she met her new family members; Richard, Elizabeth and Megan Howell.
"She can walk, she can run," Megan Howell stated to the press. She can do anything a dog with four legs can do, except go up the stairs".
