In Canton, OH, a break-in had happened at a grocery store. While police Officer Ryan Davis and his partner were investigating, Officer Davis heard gunshots. Unfortunately, his partner was left critically wounded after he had been shot three times.
Davis partner was a two years old German shepherd K9 officer named Jethro. The K9 cop used to live with Davis family since her was a little puppy. The beautiful German shepherd was easily able to switch between work and home, besides, has quickly and incredibly bonded with the officer’s daughter.
According to Officer Davis, “Jethro was really a fighter, he has saved my life probably”. Jethro died in the hospital while Officer Davis was beside him. January 14, 2016 would have been Jethro’s third birthday, which is the same day the Canton community came together to honor their fellow comrade. Over 100 police dogs walked in the honoring procession of their fellow K9 Officer. They have even made a large dog bone of white flower for him!
Jethro was not only a hero K9 officer, but he was also a beloved member of Davis’ family who got the beautiful German shepherd when he was only 8 weeks old. Jethro remained protective and loyal friend till the end.
