In Norfolk, Virginia, a K9 police dog named Krijger was killed during a shootout on Monday. Afterwards, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper has donated for the Police Department here in Norfolk to buy get police dogs lifesaving vests. While the other members wish that Krijger was wearing one of these bulletproof vests, he, unfortunately, was not, he would be survived the shooting if he was.

Jimmy Hatch, who is a Retired Seal and former military dog handler, hear the news of killing Krijger. He launched a campaign honoring officer Krijger aims to collect the money needed to purchase the life-saving vests for the police department. Hatch knew Krijger; he runs the volunteers with the police department and charity Spikes, K9 Fund.
The reason why the police department in Norfolk is not often able to purchase bulletproof vests is that the piece costs about $2,200. CNN anchor Anderson Cooper knows Hatch from an interview he did last year about his time in SEAL back in Afghanistan.
When Cooper saw the social media post of the campaign that Hatch is running, he decided to donate his speaking fee for the upcoming lecture in Norfolk. According to Hatch, they can get 18 life-saving vests with Cooper’s donation. These vests will go for the Police K9 Unit in Norfolk and some units of the Hampton-Roads.

On Tuesday, January 19, 2016, The Norfolk Police Department gave K9 Officer Krijger a full honoring funeral process where the public will be welcomed to pay their tributes.
