The moment I saw this image I was terribly shocked at how the polar bear is looking like! Photographer Kerstin Langenberger from Svalbard posted this photo to her Facebook page;she was feeling so worried about what the scientists said. They said that the Svalbard bear's population is stable, but this photo is proving that they are wrong; she onlysaw starving, skinny and unhealthy bears. She said that she saw so many bears in good health but in the same time she saw so many dead bears.
Kerstin said that she noticed also that the male bears are way bigger and fatter than females. It's known that the male bear stays on the ice all the year, but the female stays on land, so she can give birth to the young. The bears are now stuck on a land that they can't escape, and they can't find food. The ice around them is retreating towards north every year. Shockingly, there is a 30% reduction of the whole polar bears population in the last three generation which is approximately about 45 year, because of the melting ice,whichleads to the loss of their den and decrease of food sources.
The future of polar bears doesn't seem to be good, and it's all because of the global climate that changes the characteristics of living for polar bears. As you see, this is the result of what humans did in nature; the result is this, a starving, near death polar bear. According to the calculations of scientists, the ice will melt over the next 100 years, which means that polar bears' habitat will be gone.
It's heartbreaking; this is showing us how humans had ruined many sides of nature. The world will be a better place if humans go extinct. Share this article with all animals lovers do you know.
